CLIMMAR President meets sector partners in Brussels

Online since 02-09-2026
CLIMMAR President Tomas Kvapil held a series of meetings in Brussels this week with key EU institutional and industry partners, as part of CLIMMAR's ongoing dialogue with policymakers shaping the future of European agriculture.

Mr Kvapil met with the office of Veronika Vrecionová, Chair of the European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, to introduce the role of agricultural machinery dealers and share perspectives from across the CLIMMAR network, including his own experience in the Czech market. Discussions focused on generational renewal in European farming, with the average EU farmer now 56 years old, and only 11% under the age of 40 and the importance of ensuring new entrants to the profession have access to modern, connected machinery, training, and ongoing technical support.

Mr Kvapil also met with Jelte Wiersma, Secretary General of CEMA, the European agricultural machinery manufacturers' association, for a constructive exchange covering the Common Agricultural Policy, non-road mobile machinery regulation, and ongoing developments around the Agricultural Data Space.

Rounding out the day, Mr Kvapil met with the CEETTAR secretariat for an introductory exchange, learning more about CEETTAR's activities in Brussels and exploring possibilities for future cooperation between the two organisations.

Across each meeting, CLIMMAR reinforced a consistent message: agricultural machinery dealers are the essential bridge between innovation in the factory and its practical application on the farm. Dealers provide access to modern, smart, connected machinery; training, maintenance, and ongoing technical support; and on-the-ground help for farmers, particularly in rural areas.
