CLIMMAR Presents Dealer Satisfaction Index Results and Branch Outlook at Agritechnica
Online since 10-11-2025
Hannover, Germany, November 2025 – CLIMMAR, the European association representing dealers and distributors of agricultural machinery and equipment, presented the results of its 2025 Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI) survey during Agritechnica in Hannover.
The DSI survey was conducted between 2 April and 28 May 2025 and gathered responses from dealers across ten participating countries: Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden. The response rate for 2025 was 26%. Please note that the survey does not cover products sold by the manufacturer. The objective of the Manufacturer-Distributor Relationship Satisfaction Index is to provide distributors of agricultural machinery with a means of expressing their level of satisfaction development with their manufacturer. This is achieved through a questionnaire comprising 15 headings and 73 questions. The results of the questionnaire serve as a tool for manufacturers to work with their network to identify and address areas for improvement, which is beneficial for both parties.
This year’s results indicate a slight overall improvement in relationships between manufacturers and distributors. The average score increased to 13.5, while the difference between the highest- and lowest-rated brands widened from 2.1 to 2.3 points. Overall, eight brands showed improvement in their relationships with distributors, whereas two brands experienced a decline.
In addition to the DSI results, CLIMMAR also presented its latest analysis of the economic situation in the agricultural machinery sector. Following two years of near-uniform downturn across Europe, there are now the first signs of a modest recovery for dealers and service providers. The CLIMMAR Index, a composite indicator for the industry’s performance in all sixteen CLIMMAR member countries ranging from –3 to +3, currently stands just above zero. This reflects a still challenging but slightly improving environment across Europe.
While sales projections for the first half of 2025 continue to show a decline, this is largely due to persistent weakness in new machinery sales, particularly tractors. Demand for new equipment remains subdued, with customers postponing replacement investments or opting for lower-priced models. By contrast, the used machinery market is performing relatively steadily, and turnover in workshops and spare parts is rising across most European markets. Inventories are being reduced gradually, and employment levels remain stable.
Despite ongoing challenges, dealer sentiment has turned cautiously optimistic for the first time since 2023.
